Dono is a cat who came to our center following a report from our partner company, Geunseong Clean.
The company received a reservation email explaining that the guardian, who had lived with the animals for many years, was no longer in a situation where they could continue caring for them.
The message expressed a heartfelt wish to send the animals to a safe place first.
When we arrived at the home for the rescue,
the guardian had already left.
Inside the house,
the television was still on, as if to keep the animals from feeling alone.
Traces of the guardian’s consideration and care for them until the very end
remained quietly throughout the space.

Dono is the cat who had been living together with Bongji in that home.
Until arriving at our center,
Dono appeared to have been well fed and consistently cared for.
His round body and well-maintained condition
clearly showed how lovingly he had been looked after.
Dono truly loves food.
He is completely honest when it comes to mealtime,
and as a cat who has eaten well and grown well,
there is a sense of ease and comfort in both his body and his heart.
Dono is also a cat who loves human touch.
When you approach him gently and reach out your hand,
he does not shy away.
Instead, he leans into you.
When you pet him,
he quietly begins to purr,
fully enjoying the warmth of the touch.
Although his entire environment changed so suddenly,
Dono still trusts people.
Even in unfamiliar surroundings,
he chooses to stay close to humans.
After the time he shared with Bongji,
Dono is now preparing for a new chapter of his life.
He knows the comfort of human arms
and is familiar with what it means to be loved.
Once again,
he is waiting for a family
who will quietly share their everyday life with him —
a home where he can lie down peacefully
and purr beside someone he loves.
