Hwangto was rescued after a flood submerged the village, leaving his entire body covered in water and oil.
He loves people very much and is generally friendly even toward strangers, but he can be easily startled by small things and has a somewhat timid and sensitive nature.

Hwangto is a dog rescued from Uiryeong, Gyeongsangnam-do,
an area affected by severe flooding in 2025.
He had been living tied up at a motorcycle repair shop.
Because the shop handled oil as part of its work,
Hwangto was caught in the flood and ended up soaked in both water and oil.
Hwangto’s guardian was hospitalized due to flood-related injuries
and was no longer able to care for him.
Through the ownership relinquishment process,
Hwangto was able to come to the center.
Since arriving at the center,
Hwangto has been learning how to play with Director Jundok,
and he’s gradually becoming a dog who enjoys walks more and more 🐾
He’s now taking his first steps toward being ready to meet a family!
